There once was a princess who lived in a glass castle...

After I was born, instead of going home with my Mommy & Daddy, I got to live in a big glass castle inside the NICU at Baptist Hospital...

Mommy & Daddy came to visit me everyday...

The nurses took really good care of me. They even put pretty pink bows in my hair...

Mommy even decorated my castle with pretty blankets that matched my nursery at home!...

Sometimes it would be too cold for me to come outside to play but Mommy & Daddy still found ways to make sure I knew they were there and that they loved me...

Until I learned how to eat on my own, I had to eat all my meals by a feeding tube...

But once I learned how to eat from a bottle, I got big and strong...

And then the day came when I was strong enough to leave my big glass castle & go home with Mommy & Daddy...

Birth Story Photos...

I forgot to mention that my sister-in-law, Melissa, did our Birth Story pictures!!... Aren't they awesome!?!... I know Anniston is going to love having these memories when she gets older of how she was born :)

Thanks Mel! These are priceless!!

My Birth Story...

It was a Saturday afternoon, July 18, 2009. Mommy & Daddy had just started to settle back in at home from a loooooong stay at the hospital. They thought they were finally gonna have a nice, relaxing evening at home... little did they know I couldn't wait any longer to come out and meet them!... :)

Mommy was at home by herself laying on the couch watching TV when her water broke. Daddy had gone to the grocery store to restock the empty kitchen. He had a cartful of groceries when Mommy frantically called to tell him what happened and that he needed to hurry back home! Daddy left the grocery store and raced home to pick Mommy up so they could go to the hospital.

Luckily, they hadn't fully unpacked from their last hospital stay ;) ... When Daddy got home, they grabbed their bags and headed to Baptist hospital.

It was 4:30pm when they were on their way... Mommy was having really bad contractions that kept getting worse but her and Daddy stayed pretty calm. When they got to the hospital, the nurse checked Mommy and she was already dilated to 5cm so things moved kinda quickly. They moved her to a Labor & Delivery room and called her doctor.

They hooked Mommy up to all kinds of monitors to watch her contractions & to keep an eye on my heart rate...

By this time, Uncle Chris & Aunt Melissa were on their way to the hospital to be with Mommy & Daddy... When they got there, the sun had just started to set and the sky was painted a pretty band of pink... Uncle Chris said it was because "Baby Anniston was coming"...

After they got to Mommy's room, it was time for her to start pushing! They went to the waiting room while Daddy stayed with Mommy...

After pushing for 2 1/2 hours, I finally got the meet my Mommy & Daddy!! :) I was born on July 19th at 12:09am!!! I weighed 4lbs 15oz & was 18 1/2in long...

Since I was 6 weeks early, I had to be taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. After the doctors made sure I was stable, Daddy got to come visit me...

I stayed in the NICU until I was big enough to get sent home...

Wow! Its been a while...

Goodness!... Its been a crazy time these past few months!!!... Sorry I've been MIA on the blog scene for so long! I'm gonna try to catch everyone up with what's been going on with us over the next few blogs I post...

As most of you know, I first got admitted into the hospital on June 12th for pre-term labor symptoms then discharged on June 18th... then I was on bed rest at home for a little over a week.

I had to go back to the hospital again on June 30th and stayed that time until July 16th... After a couple days at home, my water broke and I had Anniston on July 19th!! She was 6 weeks early!!

I'm not gonna go into all the gory details of that hospital stay like I did the first one... all I'll say was it was brutal & such an emotional roller coaster for both Jeremy & I! Being on bed rest and in and out of the hospital, was one of the most difficult times in my life! I'm sure a lot of people think that bed rest is a piece of cake unless they've been on it for as long as I was. It was torture and at times extremely painful!!!! It really takes a toll on you physically and emotionally!!

But now looking back on it all, we are just so thankful that our Sweet Little Anniston made it here safely! :)
